One Day - 150 Sandwiches!
The Girl Scouts made 150 sandwiches for the refugees. We put a few things in the sandwich. We put cucumber, ham, cheese and butter. In a plastic bag we put the sandwich we had made, a fig, a juice packet, a cake and a packet of wet wipes.
We took turns doing all of the steps. There were three cucumbers slices, one piece of ham and one piece of cheese in each sandwich.
How did we put the sandwiches together? Like this:
Firstly, we unfolded some napkins. Then we put two pieces of bread on the napkins. After that we spread butter on the bread. After the butter was on the bread we put on the cucumber slices and ham. Then on the other piece of bread we put on one slice of cheese. Lastly, we folded the napkin together, making the two pieces of bread come together.
It meant a lot to me to make the sandwiches, because I knew it was really going to help someone in need. It also made me realize how lucky I am. Two women came in to talk to us about the Red Crescent. They told us a few very interesting stories about refugees that they had helped.
