Life in the Camps: An interview with Turkish Red Crescent Officer

An officer from Turkish Red Crescent reported that “Doctors, engineers, and professors all stay in the same camps. They are as happy as they can be in their situation and make the best of every day. This is something spiritual, since these refugees believe that they are being tested. In this belief, there are different levels. By being tested, they pass one level and when they die they will go to heaven. The more you believe in God, the more you are being tested. These tests are just to remind good people of heaven. They believe in this so they feel strong.”
